Lodge Kilsyth St John No.39
    


The main museum is situated on the upper level of the lodge and is full of interesting artefacts from the world of Freemasonry. The museum can be viewed be any member of the lodge or by any visitor to the lodge. It is certainly worth a look and I would recommend it to anyone who enters the lodge and has a few minutes to spare.

Lodge Museum


The walls of the museum are covered in an array of masonic pictures, certificates and paintings,some of which are very old.




The display cabinets hold a variety of objects including jewels, magazines, glassware and ceramics.




Masonic aprons and candles are also on display.




One of the cabinets contains ancient ceremonial equipment such as drums, original hand painted aprons and bowls

Left: An impressive memorial to the members of the lodge that died in the Great War.

Although these pictures are not technically part of the museum, I think they should be on show. These are pictures of an original mural that exists above the suspended ceiling that is in the lodge room today.

The Glass cabinets in the lodge room are used to display items that have been presented to the lodge over the years. A few examples of these items are shown below:

Sword of the Catholic KingsIn 2001, The Sword of the Catholic Kings was presented to the Lodge by the breathern of Lodge Emulation (Madrid,Spain) on the 100th anniversary of the Parkfoot Temple.

  • Banner of lodge Weltkugel,Germany.Presented during a visit to the lodge.
  • The small globe was also presented to the lodge by Bro. Klaus Zimmerman of lodge Weltkugel.
  • The glass tablet was presented to the lodge by the instruction class on the 100th anniversary of the temple.
  • Bro. J.Motherwell, the Queens Piper, presented the lodge with this salt & pepper shaker and an engraved platter along with a small apron which he got fron San Antonio, Texas.

  • The plate was presented to the lodge by lodge Emulation (Madrid) during a visit by a deputation of lodge 39 to Madrid.
  • The decanter was presented to the lodge on the 100th anniversary of the temple by the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 123.
  • The Millenium mug is from the town of Coleraine in Ulster. It was presented to the lodge by P.M Bro. Alan McGuire of lodge Royal Blue 754.
  • The Tureen was presented by lodge Emulation at the same time as the plate.
  • The Quaich was given to the lodge by P.M Bro. Brian Marshall of lodge Caladonian St. John Royal Arch 195.

  • A masonic apron from Bremen, Germany.
  • The apron of Depute Provincial Grand Master of Castilla,Spain which was presented to Bro. Neil Mitchell by Bro.Gabriel Lopez Past P.G.M of Castilla.
  • A Kilsyth St.John 260th anniversary apron
